March outside

The girls received tricycles for their birthday,..three months ago and once in a while we get to ride them.  Finally left them in the garage instead of the dining room.  Seems that I trip over them less if they are in the garage.  This picture I may have posted already, but I love it.  Casey just goofing around on her tricycle. (spell check did not recognize monkeying around)

We are loving the pretend play that has come around.  It is so cute to see Lundyn giving her baby a drink : )

And on this day for some reason the girls did not take a nap in the early afternoon like normal.  So at 4:45pm they were in our room watching Backyardigans and Lundyn crashed for about 45 minutes.

I took these pictures today when we got home from MDO.  Casey pulled the wagon out of the garage and got in.  Lundyn wanted to pull and Casey is telling her yelling at her that mommy is supposed to pull the wagon : )

So I pulled the girls up and down the driveway and up and down the sidewalk.  They were not ready to give up the wagon so they each took a turn pulling,.. with mommy helping a little.  Casey did really well keeping the wagon on the sidewalk.

Lundyn took her turn pulling Casey but I think she really wanted to ride : )

First Trip to the Dentist

Tuesday morning I started talking to the girls about going to the dentist that afternoon.  We did a song about it and just said that he is going to count their teeth.  I kept talking about it all day and asking what we were going to do at the dentist.   Both girls said “count my teeth”.   I even said the Dr’s name so they would know who he is when we got there.  I had heard fabulous reports about this dentist, Dr. C.  He is a pediatric dentist and sees children after they have turned 2.   He makes sure he is free to chat with new patients and parents to make it as welcoming and comfortable as possible.  We had to wait a little while because they had an emergency right before we got there, but it was worth the wait.  Our little Rockstars did AWESOME for their first visit. 

The hygienist is showing L the suction tube and told her to kiss it just to see how it feels.  She looks a little nervous but that soon passed.

C was ok with the sunglasses we brought, but that was short lived.

LOOK!! There are tv’s on the ceiling!! What a great idea.  Tom & Jerry cartoons were on : )

This little girl makes me daddy and I so proud!  Her teeth were checked, and cleaned and polished,..

and she did the water and suction without even a flinch.  No crying at all!!  It was almost as if she liked it : )

This little girl let her nerves get the best of her, I think.  She didn’t want to wear her own sunglasses.  She didn’t want to wear the sunglasses from the dentist.  She just was not interested in what was going on.

After a couple of teeth were polished she was done.  Daddy held her hand but she didn’t want to be there.  After a brief break, she wanted to be on the yellow table,… 3 or 4 tables down. Somehow we convinced her to come back to the red table and try again.  Still, she did great and we are so proud of her for what she did.  We all know the dentist is not our favorite place to go.  And the staff kept saying they wanted to keep the girls all day because they did so great!!

The hygienists were finished and Dr. C did the exam.  Again, L didn’t mind a bit.  No big deal.

After this pic, C laid down on the table and Dr. C was able to look at her teeth.  They both got a clear bouncy ball about the size of a large jawbreaker.  It is clear and has stars inside.  AND they both got stickers- a couple of lions, a panda and a dalmation : )  And daddy went back to work for a couple of hours : ) 

Amazing March

This was on March 1.  I am trying to play catch up with the blogging since I have not been so diligent lately.

An amazing little helper.  I had the empty basket in the living room and was on my way to the girls’ room to collect sheets to be washed.  I turned around and the basket was gone.  Hmm?? Where could it be? Casey had taken it to the hall and started putting their sheets in it : )  Then she pushed it all the way down the hall to the laundry room.  Lundyn joined along the way,.. for a minute.

 

And on March 3, we took the girls to Build A Bear!!!  I can just see the wheels turning in their minds.  “WOW!! What do we do?”

It took a few minutes to pick out which animal they wanted. 

And finally Casey chose the Bunny : )  aka “Bunny”

And Lundyn chose the frog.  Currently known as “Froggie”

Then we were off to get stuffed.  Lundyn stepped on the pedal to make the machine fill Froggie with stuffing, good thing there is a “turn off” switch for the employee to flip.  : )  Casey was not as interested in pushing the pedal.  Funny because she is normally the more outgoing of the two.  Then we give the animal a heart, but not before kissing the heart, and rubbing it on the head to make Bunny and Froggie smart.  And on the feet to help them run fast and jump high : )

Bunny and Froggie had to get a bath before we pick out clothes,..

Casey picked a cute white shirt with pink trim and Lundyn picked a pretty purple shirt with silver decorations.  Absolutely adorable and so much fun to be able to do this with our children.  Next, we were off to find something to eat!!  OOH and for my mom, we went to Olive Garden and Lundyn picked up the purple onion on the salad and ate it!! More than once.  I do have pictures,.. and I was almost horrified : )  Must get it from daddy because we all know how mommy “loves” onions LOL

It’s a learning process : )

Our next big adventure will be First visit to the dentist this week. 

Finish February

Since Daddy had to work on Valentine’s Day, we decided to meet for lunch.  Had a good time taking pictures and spending time with Daddy during daylight hours : )  And I think it was the first time for them to eat cheese fries.  None of them went to waste. ha ha

I started adding curls to the girls’ hair once in a while at Christmas.  I love the way it looks in these pictures.  And we have heard from the beginning that L looks like Daddy.  In these pictures,.. I really see it now : )

 

we had a little cheese with our meal ha ha ha and Casey loves bread.  Like mother like daughter.

We play with bubbles in the tub,.. I guess they are trying to wash each others’ hair. 

Lundyn seems to be fascinated with Baeley.  She wants to cover him with a blanket, or lay down next to him when he is trying to sleep.   We may have a veterinarian in training.

And she still cannot live without “Baby”.  She has to have Baby to sleep at night, yet she drags Baby all over the house so when it is bedtime mommy and daddy are on a hunt for the missing Baby,.. LOL.  Seriously, we see a very nurturing characteristic with Lundyn and it is so precious.  We love the way she wants to cover Baby with a blanket.  A few weeks ago we were in the truck and somehow Baby was going too.  The sun was shining in L’s eyes and I said “put Baby over your eyes”,… She put her hand over Baby’s eyes.  Just amazing!

WHERE IS WALDO????

We started getting a little more serious about showing the girls  letting them figure out how to drink from a regular cup.  They have been drinking from a cup in the bathtub for months and months.  Why not give it a whirl at dinner??  Casey really did well.  Lundyn wants to stick out her tongue which results in milk running down her front : )

And on 2/22 mommy made some Peanut Butter Playdoh and let the girls play.  We had a good time, and peanut butter has protein, much better than the real playdoh stuff.

 

And I am setting a goal to keep my kitchen counter this clean all the time : )  With the exception of the dishes in the sink.  Dishwasher was full ha ha

I thought I would have this post done a couple of hours ago, but things happen : )

This is a masterpiece created by Lundyn this morning!! We can’t help but laugh at the things she does, but when I took this picture, I am not even sure I can describe the thoughts that went through my mind. It looks like photo art. Just hilarious!!!
